Jazeera Airways celebrates fourth anniversary of Damascus to Kuwait non-stop route
The airline now holds 57 per cent of the market share on its twice-daily route Damascus, Syria, 16 December 2009 †Jazeera Airways, (KSE: Jazeera, Bloomberg: Jazeera KK, Reuters: JAZK.KW) was in Syria today to mark the fourth anniversary of Jazeera flights between Damascus and Kuwait, and announce that the airline holds a 57% market share on the non-stop route between the two cities.

During a dinner for the travel trade, Bernard Matta, Regional Sales Manager Levant for Jazeera Airways took the opportunity to discuss Jazeera’s ongoing achievements in Syria. He said: “Since beginning operations to Damascus in 2005, we have witnessed unprecedented growth on our Syria routes and it is a market which we consider as very exciting. The fact that Jazeera alone has more than half of the Kuwait-Damascus route’s market share signifies the trust that Guests have in us, and we look forward to developing the route and our Syria operations as a whole, in the future.” Jazeera already operates flights from Kuwait to two other Syrian destinations including three weekly flights to Aleppo and five weekly flights to Deir Ezzor. Both these routes are operated exclusively by Jazeera Airways.

Matta also announced at the event that flights to the airline’s complete range of summer destinations are now on sale, and explained how those flying from Syria can benefit from planning their 2010 summer vacations well in advance. “Next summer is starting early for Jazeera, and Guests that book their travel well in advance can rest assured that they have a seat to their favourite destination booked and confirmed.
