Bahrain International Airport passes quality assurance audit
Bahrain International Airport once again underlined its commitment to excellence and operating to the highest quality standards by successfully qualifying in the annual audit assessment conducted by international quality assurance company, Lloyd's, ensuring that the Airport continues to run according to the specified standards that saw it awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate two years ago.

Mr. Kamal Ahmed, Chairman of Bahrain Airport Company stated that the audit assessment was successfully completed with full compliance, proving the excellent level of service and dedication that Bahrain International Airport staff offer. "We always emphasize the proficiency of our Bahraini workforce at the Airport, who are the main driving force behind us winning this accreditation," Mr. Ahmed said.

"We continuously strive to provide an outstanding service that caters to all the needs of the air carriers and passengers who use Bahrain International Airport. This goes in tandem with our extensive development plans to strengthen our position in the international aviation industry."

Newly appointed Bahrain Airport Company CEO, Gordon Dewar also commented, saying, "It is very reassuring and gratifying that the team I have recently joined has again demonstrated their professionalism and high standards of operation. Gaining external recognition for our standards demonstrates that the Airport as a whole is a great place to travel through and to do business. This will act as further encouragement in our pursuit of continuous improvement across all of our services and my thanks goes to the Bahrain Airport Company team for achieving this important accolade."

As per the agreement between Bahrain Airport Company and Lloyd's, the ISO certification has been renewed for a further two years. Over this duration, external auditors will annually assess the Company's adherence to the standards set as part of quality assurance program. The assessment includes an audit of all departments within the Airport, factoring in the changes that have occurred as part of the transfer of airport operations management from the Civil Aviation Affairs to Bahrain Airport Company.

In addition Bahrain Airport Company have trained a number of its employees as internal auditors to assess and assure adherence to the quality standards across all departments every six months as part of the requirements set by Lloyd's.
