Oman Air and Etihad sign frequent flyer programme agreement
(c) Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation: The national carriers of Oman and the UAE, Oman Air and Etihad Airways, signed a reciprocal agreement at Oman Air’s headquarters in Muscat on 05-Jan-08, permitting passengers of both carriers to take advantage of each other’s frequent flyer programmes, Sindbad and Etihad Guest, respectively.

The objective of the partnership is to offer more benefits, including mileage earning and redemption opportunities, to members of both carrier’s loyalty programmes, by enhancing the FFP to get competitive advantage through each other’s networks.

Etihad’s Oman team will continue to provide sales support to our customers in the Sultanate. The carrier anticipates “a great deal” of demand through the agreement from its loyalty programme members, particular with members visiting Oman, who will be able to accrue Etihad Guest miles throughout their journey when transferring on an internal Oman Air flight from Muscat to Salalah and Khasab.”

Oman Air commenced operations in 1993 and has grown rapidly in the last fifteen years. Today it flies to 25 key destinations throughout the GCC, Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Far East and Europe.
