Jet Airways launches daily direct flights to Kuwait and Bahrain

Jet Airways launches daily direct flights to Kuwait and Bahrain
(c) Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation: Jet Airways, became India’s first private sector carrier to launch daily direct flights to Kuwait and Bahrain, thus expanding its international network, effective 05-Jan-08.

Jet Airways’ marks its initial launch with a daily direct flight on the Kochi-Kuwait-Kochi and Kochi-Bahrain-Kochi sectors. With these flights Jet Airways makes its first international foray out of Kerala. The airline also commences daily direct flights on the Mumbai-Bahrain-Mumbai and Delhi-Kuwait-Delhi sectors, using Boeing 737-800 equipment.

Announcing the launch of these flights into the Gulf sector, Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, Executive Vice President - Commercial, Jet Airways said, “Jet Airways is proud to be the first Indian private sector carrier to fly to the Gulf. With a large number of Indians living and working in the Gulf, flights to these sectors consistently register high load factors. Passengers on the India-Gulf route will now experience Jet Airways’ world-class service on the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering the highest quality of comfort, courtesy, reliability and standards of in-flight as well as ground operations”.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 594 (Kochi-Bahrain) will depart Kochi International Airport at 1750 hrs and arrive at Bahrain International Airport at 2000 hrs. Flight 9W 593 (Bahrain-Kochi) will depart Bahrain International Airport at 0845 hrs and arrive at Kochi International Airport at 1630 hrs.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 574 (Kochi-Kuwait) will depart from Kochi International Airport at 1930 hrs and arrive at Kuwait International Airport at 2220 hrs. Flight 9W 573 (Kuwait-Kochi) will depart Kuwait International Airport at 1240 hrs and arrive at Kochi International Airport at 2100 hrs.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 592 (Mumbai-Bahrain) will depart from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0555 hrs and arrive at Bahrain at 0715 hrs. On the return leg, flight 9W 591 (Bahrain-Mumbai) will depart Bahrain International Airport at 2130 hrs and arrive at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 0350 hrs.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 572 (Delhi-Kuwait) will depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 0855 hrs and arrive at Kuwait International Airport at 1110 hrs. On the return leg, flight 9W 571 (Kuwait-Delhi) will depart Kuwait International Airport at 0005 hrs and arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 0625 hrs.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 76 aircraft, which includes 8 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 7 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 52 classic and next generation Boeing 737-400/700/800/900 aircraft and 9 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. With an average fleet age of 4.37 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world. Jet Airways operates over 355 flights daily.

Flights to 55 destinations span the length and breadth of India and beyond, including New York (JFK), New York (Newark), Toronto, Brussels, London Heathrow, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok, Kathmandu and Dhaka. The airline plans to extend its international operations to other cities in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia in phases with the induction of additional wide-body aircraft into its fleet.
