Gulf Air signs up maintenance contract with Singapore Company
Gulf Air has awarded a long-term maintenance contract to Singapore's mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC).
The three-year contract, valued at USD21 million, covers heavy maintenance work for Gulf Air's five Airbus A340, six Airbus A320 and six Airbus A330 aircraft from 2008 to 2010.

The agreement was signed at the Singapore Airshow between Gulf Air President and Chief Executive Mr Bjorn Naf and Mr. William Tan, Chief Executive Officer for SIAEC.

"SIAEC have a long history of excellence and dedication and we believe they are the right choice in fulfilling our engineering maintenance needs to enhance our operations and our network," says Mr. Naf.

"We are confident that this deal will further enhance Gulf Air’s s technical reliability and operational efficiency and, help our airline to achieve its goal of becoming the carrier of choice."

While SIAEC has been providing aircraft heavy maintenance services to several airlines in the Middle East, this is the first time Gulf Air has signed a long-term contract with SIAEC.

"We are delighted that Gulf Air, a highly progressive and successful airline in the Middle East, is signing a long-term maintenance agreement with us," adds Mr. Tan.

"This is testimony to the confidence Gulf Air has on the quality of our services. SIAEC's dedication to on-time delivery and high maintenance standards will help customers achieve higher fleet utilisation and operating efficiencies."
