Abu Dhabi Airport Company states Gulf region needs to prepare for exceptional growth
At the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation’s inaugural Middle East Aviation Outlook Summit, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), HE Khalifa Mohamed Al Mazrouie, stated that the Gulf region needs to prepare for a period of exceptional growth.

Passenger traffic growth in Abu Dhabi is particularly strong, increasing 31% year-on-year in 2007.

Mr. Al Mazrouie states, "we are also investing to meet demand, demand that comes from our strategic global location and the growing economies of the Middle East, India, China and Asia Pacific… We do not intend to miss this growth opportunity and it is why we are both reacting as well as planning for the future. A new terminal is underway to meet growing demand”.

Abu Dhabi Government is reportedly considering the privatisation of operations currently managed by Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC), including cargo terminals, passenger terminals, catering, duty free outlets and car parks (AME Info, 28-Feb-08). ADAC reportedly appointed Credit Suisse Group as financial advisers to the proposed sales.
