Jazeera Airways' Chairman and CEO, Marwan Boodai, was honoured as a Kuwaiti business pioneer for his work in boosting economic ties between Kuwait and Turkey.
The honour was bestowed on Boodai at the Sait Halim Paša Mansions in Istanbul, following Jazeera Airways' launch of low fare flights between Kuwait and Istanbul, which will facilitate trade and enterprise and build on the existing commercial relationships that the countries have built over the past years.
Boodai commented; 'This is a real honour for Jazeera Airways and recognises our efforts in increasing traffic between Jazeera Airways' destinations while acknowledging our continual efforts in facilitating business between countries throughout our network'.
Jazeera Airways, which was founded in October 2004, has become the region's fastest growing airline, adding 26 non-stop routes in 30 months.
The airline operates a fleet of six brand new Airbus A320 aircraft, one of the most fuel efficient aircraft built today.
Jazeera Airways raised its capital through a nation-wide upfront IPO in June of its founding year.
The airline generated profit of KD2.5m in 2006 - its first full operational year.
