UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman launched on October 24th its new non-stop service between Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman and Maldives. The new flights to Malé will depart Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, returning the same day.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman launched on September 30th its non-stop scheduled services between Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman, and Frankfurt and services between Muscat and Munich on October 1st. The carrier now offers passengers four weekly flights to Frankfurt and three weekly flights to Munich.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : In an effort to increase efficiency and to provide better service to passengers, Oman AirOman AirLoading will close check-in counters an hour before the scheduled time of departure for all flights departing from Muscat. Boarding Gates will open 70minutes before departure and close promptly at 15 minutes before departure.

Oman Air stall drew a large number of visitors that approached to see and feel the new Business Class seat that was on display at the Dubai International Convention Centre. Travel industry chiefs who took part in ATM, the leading travel and tourism exhibition of the region dedicated to unlocking the business potential within the Middle East, remained optimistic about the industry's continued growth despite the harsh global economic conditions.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Oman Air forecast it will continue to make losses in the medium term, following a net loss of USD111.2 million for the 12 months ended 31-Dec-09. CEO, Peter Hill stated the carrier will report losses again in 2009 due to the continuation of the global financial downturn and significant investments it plans to make during the period.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : From 17-May-09 the carrier adds a second A330 to their fleet and this will operate their Bangkok services.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Oman Air was honoured at the “Media Innovation Forum 2009” held at the premises of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) recently. The three-day Forum, which Oman Air sponsored, was organised by the Mass Communication Department in the College of Arts and Social Sciences, in cooperation with the Department of Public Relations and Information of Sultan Qaboos University.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Oman Air is pleased to announce (07-Apr-09) that it has joined the International Airlines Technical Pool Association. Made up of over 100 member airlines, and about 30 suppliers including aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing with over 400 members from the aviation industry on its roll, IATP gather twice yearly to discuss sharing of resources, reducing costs, while improving operating efficiency.

The renewal is an outcome of the IOSA audit the Airline underwent, whereby the Carrier remains among the airlines which reached this internationally recognized standard, after a thorough evaluation in all areas of organization and management system, flight operation, operational control, flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, aircraft ground handling, cargo operation and operational security.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Oman Air has selected (18-Mar-09) Rockwell Collins to provide avionics for its fleet of 12 next-generation Boeing 737 aircraft (6 leased, 6 direct purchase). Oman Air will also retrofit its current fleet of 9 next-generation Boeing 737 aircraft with the Rockwell Collins Data Link products.
