Middle East Airlines recibe cinco Airbus 330

The chairman of Middle East Airlines (MEA) Mohamad El-Hout said (25-Mar-09) that the airline was expected to receive five Airbus 330 in May and one Airbus 320 in April of this year as part of a plan to expand the fleet. El-Hout made the comments after meeting with the president of Airbus Tome Enders, who is currently visiting Beirut.

Both Hout and Enders discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the two companies. Earlier, Enders had a meeting with Public Works and Transport Minister Ghazi Aridi. Enders said that MEA has overcome many difficulties and even managed to record profits at a time when many international airlines were facing financial difficulties. Hout said that once MEA receives all the orders, more flight destinations will be added to the current ones. MEA recorded net profits of LBP60 million in 2007 and is expected to make LBP70 million in net earnings in 2008.
