Gulf Air appoints Bjorn Naf as President & CEO, welcomes two new Board members.
Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has appointed two seasoned locals on the board of directors of the airline. The board has also unanimously confirmed Swiss national Björn Näf as the President and Chief Executive of Gulf Air. It is also seeking within and outside Gulf Air to appoint a Bahraini to a deputy chief executive role in the airline.
The two new members on the board are Dr. Mustafa AlSayed and Mr. Jameel Al Matrook.

“I welcome Dr. AlSayed and Mr. Al Matrook on the board of directors of the airline that is an integral part of the Kingdom’s growth and development,” says Gulf Air Chairman Mahmood Al Kooheji.

“I am confident that the airline will gain a lot with the inclusion of two additional board members, who bring a wealth of industrial and business experience,” says Mr. Al Kooheji.

He also congratulated Mr. Näf on his confirmation.

“Björn has proven himself to be the ideal candidate to lead Gulf Air, which has begun a new era as the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and we fully support him and his team” says Mr. Al Kooheji.

Meanwhile the search for a Bahraini deputy chief executive will be conducted within and outside Gulf Air, says Mr. Al Kooheji.

“The search for a Bahraini deputy CEO will be conducted in a transparent manner within Gulf Air and outside the company. This will further strengthen the national leadership in the company that aims to be the airline of choice from the region,” concludes Mr. Al Kooheji.
